The Thinker: September 2024

ThinkWell Consultancy is up and running!
Ariane Barton, Jessamy House and Clare Ryan (L-R) welcome you to the first edition of our newsletter, The Thinker. We’re going to keep you updated on our activities, share resources and information with you, and create opportunities for our followers to connect, learn and reflect.
Thinking well, working well
Already, we’ve had lots of interest in our approach to building leadership competencies in relation to supporting staff wellbeing and embedding a culture of trauma-informed practice. From the social work department of a large teaching hospital, to a major national mental health service, to education providers - the common thread is a desire to retain and develop staff, build healthy team cultures, enhance reflective abilities across the workforce, and integrate trauma-informed practices.

ThinkWell training
If these webinars piqued your interest and you want to learn more we have a couple of trainings for you! These two trainings dig deeper into how you can build well connected and engaged teams and contribute to the fostering a reflective culture within your workplace - please get in touch with us if you’d like to find out more.
Being well - inclusive workplaces, supportive teams and prioritising belonging
This workshop will take participants below the surface of self-care and into the brain, highlighting the connection between regulation, reward and relationships, and how these factors support us to feel and perform at our best. We will explore what truly helps people feel safe—physically, emotionally, and culturally—as well as motivated, engaged, and rewarded in their work.
Creating a reflective organisational culture
This training explores why a reflective culture of practice within an organisation is so valuable. Participants will be supported to develop a shared understanding about the role of reflective practices and their part in a trauma-informed culture. We highly recommend this to organisational leaders seeking a facilitated opportunity to explore key elements of a reflective practice culture, before introducing the practice into their programs.

Being well: R U OK? Day 12th September 2024
Today many workplaces will come together to share a cuppa or participate in events to highlight the importance of supporting one another and asking, “R U OK?“.
At ThinkWell, we agree that taking a collective and community approach to mental health and well-being is vital. We are heartened by the growing number of workplaces that are committed to caring for their people beyond one day of the year and beyond just cups of tea.
Workplaces that prioritise fostering safe and supportive connections and providing staff with meaningful, rewarding work understand that these are key ingredients to enhancing and improving well-being in the workplace.
The R U OK? website has lots of fantastic free resources to help you ask R U OK? every day
