Think Consultation
The ThinkWell approach to consultation recognises that trauma and stress can be contagious. There is increasing acceptance that professionals and programs engaging with traumatised populations of people benefit from adopting a trauma-informed approach. In its absence, people can shift into and remain stuck in cognitive states of survival, inhibiting their abilities to manage emotions and think clearly. This has obvious and unfortunate consequences for wellbeing, as well as quality of work.
At ThinkWell our shared backgrounds in clinical, therapeutic services provide us with the tools to recognise where staff performance, wellbeing or decision making may be adversely affected by stress and secondary trauma. We can help you map and navigate these concerns through the provision of independent, specialist advice and solutions.
Our consultation services can support you to:
- Assess, understand, and respond to workforce training and professional development needs
- Implement a trauma-informed framework of operations and leadership
- Be trained in and / or use trauma-informed approaches
- Identify and address the needs of staff exposed to trauma and stress
- Explore, define and address the impacts of change, especially for those already struggling with stress and change fatigue
- Use implementation science to embed new ways of doing things
- Understand, embed and maintain reflective practices across programs and work processes
- Support and enhance staff wellbeing through the delivery of customised events and training to meet the needs of your individual and unique work setting
For those who are interested in the principles behind our consultation services, we use ecological, psychodynamic and neurobiological frameworks to make sense of staff and client experience, behaviour, professional performance, and wellbeing. After all, being well is thinking well.
