Bachelor of Social Work | AASW member | Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training | Diploma of Project Management
Clare is a proudly systemic thinker and practitioner, who has worked in Victoria’s child and family services sector for over 30 years. Clare places high value on not just knowing what to do, and how to do it, but the “why” that drives both of these. Helping others understand the “why” is one of Clare’s great motivators; she derives enormous reward from people’s “lightbulb” moments and hearing how people’s practice is influenced by new learning and opportunities for reflection.
As a social worker, Clare values transparency, humility, curiosity and collaboration as core elements of effective work with people who have learned not to trust. These values also underpin her approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
Clare worked for over a decade leading clinical practice development in Berry Street Take Two, Victoria’s leading child trauma service. She has delivered training and other professional development activities (communities of practice, conference presentations, webinars, supervision, reflective practice) to many hundreds of professionals and carers.
Clare’s particular areas of interest are the neurobiology of trauma and relationships, systemic and ecological approaches, organisational professional development strategies that go beyond training, and trauma-informed practice implementation approaches. The Neurosequential Network acknowledges that Clare has perviously completed NMT™ Training Certification through the Phase III/Mentor level.
