Many staff across a multitude of professional and support roles interact with children and families who have experienced trauma. While not all of these staff require detailed knowledge of trauma-informed assessment and intervention, everyone can benefit from being trauma-responsive.

This session offers a snapshot of essential and impactful practical approaches that can be implemented across various programs and settings, from education to residential care, refuges, and health care.

Beginning with the avoidance of re-traumatisation, we will explore strategies to bridge communication gaps, empower children with choices, and enhance safety through predictability. This training will equip diverse staff groups with the tools to provide trauma-informed services, ensuring that children and families feel secure, understood, and supported.
