The neurobiology of developmental trauma
Come along for a fascinating exploration of the brain, and how early life trauma and neglect impact on neurodevelopment.
This session draws on key NMT™ concepts including sequential and hierarchical brain organisation, the neurobiology of stress, and the critical importance of connecting relationship, regulation and reward. Key principles of how we learn, how early life experiences form lasting neural templates, and how these templates continue to inform behaviour and functioning even when there is no longer any traumatic exposure will be examined.
The knowledge gained from this session will enhance participants capacity to undertake trauma and developmentally-informed assessment, planning and interventions that recognise the unique experiences and therapeutic needs of the individual.
Target Audience: Leadership, supervisors and practitioners.
Duration: Full or half day
Location: on-line or in-person
