Breaking down structural oppression - making diversity and inclusion meaningful

An image of a blurred person descending a concrete staircase

People’s lived experiences are profoundly shaped by their identities and how these identities are interpreted and responded to by others. When structures are established by those in positions of privilege and power, how can we intentionally ensure that diverse identities, perspectives, and voices are represented and valued in the workplace?

This session encourages participants to reflect on how inclusive practices must extend beyond the individual. Systemic and structural change is required to make diversity and inclusion truly meaningful. Drawing on neurobiological frameworks, critical and feminist theory, and exploring structural oppression and intersectionality, this thought-provoking session offers participants an opportunity to consider the multiple conditions required to foster genuine diversity, equity and inclusive approaches.
